On Wednesday March 16, the high school students participated in a workshop by Safecast, an international non-profit organization whose goal is to create useful, accessible environmental data. Students learned about Safecast's missions, then discussed the importance of openness in citizen science. Then, they got the chance to use Safecast's geiger counters, known as the “bGeigie”, to measure the radiation levels around Shibuya, actively contributing to the Safecast Map, an open and crowd-sourced radiation database.
