Volleyball Game (20th November 2019)

A group of teachers from TIPS went to go watch the volleyball team on Wednesday, Nov 20th. Needless to say, we were all extremely impressed by the epic encounter that took place. Against Tokyo International School (TIS), in their brightly lit gym, and on their lightly glazed hardwood floor, the Wolverines of TIPS played a match that displayed courage, skill, and teamwork. In the triple header that took place, the first matched swayed in favor of the Wolverines. The second match swayed in favor of TIS. This meant that going into the third match it was all tied at 1-1. The third match swung back and forth like an old seesaw on a playground by the beach. Wolverines would go up, then TIS would take the lead. Going into the last, match-deciding point, the score was at 24-23 in favor of the Wolverines. Wolverines were up to serve to decide the match. The gym was silent, and all you could hear were the faint voices of people on the streets outside of the school leaving their respective workplaces. As the throw went up for the serve, it felt as if time stood still. The serve was so great that TIS could not return it, and this point would win the Wolverines the match. The moment the ball hit the net from the TIS return, the Wolverines paused to realize what had happened, then began to jump up and down with joy. The coach, Mr. Brock Spore, ran onto the court to congratulate and celebrate with the players. We had all suddenly realized what a great performance, and fantastic achievement, had occurred that fall evening in Tokyo. Congratulations to the TIPS Wolverines on their unforgettable display, and a volleyball season to be greatly proud of.
