Thanks for letting us hear from you, Greg! We are very proud of you. And a few questions:
1. Why was a small high school good for you?
For one thing, people know your name fast. It is really nice when you can greet a teacher in the morning and they say your name fast and correct. The space may be small but you can have lunch in a classroom or a snack if the teacher allows it. TIPS also has the ACE store which is student run and has snack for you in the building. I personally loved the convenience during my 5-min break between class.
2. How did a small high school prepare you for your future?
It was the lessons that I learned in a safe space that gave me an understanding of what’s to come. TIPS gave me a better understanding of patience, as someone who grew up with ADHD, this school helped me overcome my academic challenges. I was no straight-A student, but I did well. I’m not saying it's easy, but the support is there. If you are like me and struggled academically, please reach out and see what resources TIPS can offer you.
3. What did you do after high school?
As soon as I was done at TIPS, I started to do some courses in the US at a community college to get the feel for things. To move from another country then move straight into a university was a lot for me, but things are working out.
